Which ‘Hamilton’ Character Are You? Astrology Answers!

We’re hyped all over again for Hamilton, thanks to the premiere of the filmed performance on Disney+. The special features the original Broadway cast in their legendary roles.

Naturally, I started thinking about Hamilton in terms of astrology. Each of the iconic characters aligns perfectly with one of the Zodiac signs. Which one are you?

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Bold and daring, Aries excels when given the chance to lead–just like the Marquis de Lafayette. Arguably Hamilton’s most valuable ally, Lafayette is key to winning the Revolutionary War. He also spits straight fire in “Guns and Ships.” Plus he’s got style to spare.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Steadfast, loyal, and a little bit stubborn. That describes not only Taurus but also George Washington. As portrayed by Christopher Jackson in the original Broadway cast, there’s no one more noble that Washington. He’s the voice of reason, and the person in charge of wrangling the younger, more hot-headed characters. You can rely on Washington, and he’ll be loyal to you in return.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Representing Gemini is none other than Angelica Schuyler. She’s quick-witted, flirtatious, and fascinating. One of the only characters in the show able to match wits with Hamilton, Angelica possesses a quick mind. From her mind-bending rap in “The Schuyler Sisters” to her moment of emotional vulnerability in “Satisfied,” Angelica represents the best of this Air sign.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Eliza Hamilton is such a Cancerian. She’s the emotional heart of the show–and I’ll go ahead and say it, she deserved better. She takes care of everyone. Eliza performs epic emotional labor for her husband, even after he gets his fool self killed in a duel. But don’t think she’s a doormat; you only have to listen to “Burn” to see that she possesses a fiery heart.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Proud, confident, and unafraid, Leo is admired by everyone. But sometimes he can become overconfident, too, just like Philip Hamilton. Alexander and Eliza’s son is brave and loyal, with charisma to spare. Tragically, he dies in a duel while defending his father’s honor.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

It’s Hercules Mulligan! He might not be the biggest star in the show, but when you knock him down… well, you know the rest. Slightly older than the rest of the crew, Mulligan makes sure Hamilton & Co. stay in line and spies on the British, all while holding down a full-time job as a tailor’s apprentice.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Although he’s something of an antagonist in the musical, Thomas Jefferson simply opposed Hamilton’s idea. He was more cautious, less hot-headed. In fact, you could say that he kept things in balance, just like Libra. And also like Libra, Jefferson loved the finer things in life. We’re talking velvet everything.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Aaron Burr, sir. You’re such a Scorpio. One of the most misunderstood signs of the Zodiac, you care deeply about the people you love, but you struggle to let down your guard. You also hold a grudge better than almost anyone else on the planet. Try not to challenge anyone to a duel, okay?

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarius is a fun-loving, spontaneous Zodiac sign. You make decisions without always thinking them through, and most of the time you’d rather follow your heart than your head. Like Maria Reynolds, you’re just trying to squeeze as much happiness as you can out of this life. You can worry about the consequences tomorrow.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Ambitious? Check. Confident? Check. Works non-stop? Double check! Alexander Hamilton represents Capricorn. The star of the show works harder than anyone else, clawing his way up from poverty to become one of the Founding Fathers. But his pride is also his downfall. And Eliza was right that he needed to take a break once in a while.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Idealistic and willing to sacrifice everything for a cause–wait, am I talking about Aquarius or John Laurens? The hero who dreamed of freeing the slaves sadly lost his life in battle, but thanks to Hamilton, we now know his story. Laurens was a loyal friend and a free-thinker, just like Aquarius.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

Pisces, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that the character you most closely align with has one of the best songs in the musical. The bad news is that it’s King George III. The British ruler was ruled by his emotions, yearning for America like a jealous ex-boyfriend. That being said, his character is hilarious and delivers shade like nobody else.
