How Each Zodiac Sign Deals With Stress

It’s a tiny bit of an understatement that things are stressful right now. We’re all dealing with unprecedented challenges. But every Zodiac sign reacts to those challenges in a different way. Here’s how each sign copes with stress.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

When Aries gets stressed, they look for a way to get the adrenaline flowing. For Aries who are stuck inside right now, watching horror movies are a decent alternative to your preferred activities, such as team sports.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Taurus takes a lot of pride in being the reliable, steady person in every situation. However, sometimes you need to be flexible and adaptable instead. Taurus struggles with sudden changes. They tend to dig in their heels and argue instead of going with the flow.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Gemini is often the type who’ll wait until the last possible minute to get started on a project. They say it’s because they work best under pressure. In truth, they’d actually get a lot more accomplished–and feel much less stressed–if they paced themselves and made a little progress every day.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Is Cancer the worst at dealing with stress? Water signs in general struggle with stressful situations, but Cancer makes things worse by piling on “what ifs.” Worrying about worst-case scenarios is a pastime for many Cancers, but it’s not doing them any good.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

When Leo gets stressed out, they look for someone else to blame. Like a cornered cat, they’ll lash out at anyone who gets too close. Their pride won’t let them ask for help, either. A stressed Leo may also engage in risky or self-destructive behavior.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Most Virgos are perfectionists who spend their lives in a moderate state of stress. It’s not particularly healthy under the best of circumstances. If something goes wrong at work or home, however, they’ll work tirelessly to fix. And they’ll expect everyone else to work just as hard, too.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Libras approach stressful situations in one of two ways. Either they completely ignore it, or they worry constantly. There’s not much middle ground–ironic for a sign that’s all about balance. The best thing for this sign to do is practice healthy self-care while they deal with the source of their stress.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpio will pretend that nothing ever bothers them, but the truth is that they bottle things up. You might not realize it beneath their cool, tough shell. But deep down? Scorpios are often a mess. If you have a Scorpio in your life, check in with them often. And if you are a Scorpio, work on being emotionally vulnerable enough to ask for help.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarius doesn’t really “do” stress. They don’t sweat the small things, as a rule. And as for the big stuff? It’ll work itself out. This attitude can cause more stress for everyone else around Sagittarius instead.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Capricorn likes to say they thrive on stress. But in truth, they are often guilty of letting the cult of “busyness” rule their lives. Stress can have very real physical and mental consequences, so take a break every now and then.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Aquarius typically powers through stressful situations if the project is important to them. They’ll achieve seemingly super-human feats, fueled by passion and righteousness. But when that’s over? Aquarius will sleep for a week. This is a sign of very high highs and lowest lows.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

When Pisces feels stressed out, they shut down. This Zodiac sign is one of the most empathetic, so negative emotions can be tough to process. If you need to withdraw for a little while to regroup, there’s no shame in it–just don’t use it as an excuse to avoid your problems forever.
